Uighur diaspora demands answers about relatives gone missing in China
Each month, our journalists go meet an Observer to take a closer look at events they have witnessed.
"Show me that they are alive!” That's the rallying cry of members of the Uighur diaspora who launched a campaign last month calling on China to offer proof that their disappeared loved ones were still alive. China is believed to have sent more than a million members of this Turkish-speaking, Muslim minority group to “reeducation camps” in the region of Xinjiang.
The Observers program brings you the best amateur images from around the world, all verified by France 24 journalists. To see more reports from our Observers – and to become an Observer yourself! – head to our website: www.observers.france24.com/en.
