The year 2020 was defined by the Covid-19 pandemic and many instances of fake news were shared on social networks. In our last show of the year, the FRANCE 24 Observers takes a look back at some of the false information that our team reviewed in 2020.

In 2020, our team noted the proliferation of false information pertaining to the Covid-19 pandemic. For example, many Internet users have spread the idea that the pandemic was predicted several years, or even decades, ago. 

False information has also massively circulated around other current events, such as the call for a boycott of France launched in several Muslim countries and the death of famous footballer Diego Maradona.
