This weekend, a photographer captured a rare sight: sand dunes in the Sahara desert draped in snow. These images were captured near the town of Ain Sefra in northwest Algeria. According to Algerian media, this is only the fourth time snow has fallen there in 37 years.
Snowfall was reportedly about 40 centimetres – enough to make some snowballs.
This gorgeous sight is over for now – locals said the snow stuck for a day, but has since melted.
