In Tunisia, an anti-drug law called “L52” has been the subject of debate for years. Nearly a third of the country’s inmates were locked up under this harsh law, most of the time for smoking marijuana.

Our Observers’ son was sent to prison for smoking joints, and since then, his time in jail has been a hellish descent. We went to meet her to understand this harsh law, which many politicians have pledged to amend, without ever following through.
