On Monday a massive blaze lit up the city skyline and effectively shut down part of central Los Angeles. Up to 250 firefighters fought to bring the fire under control, which tore through an apartment tower still under construction and damaged two other buildings. Two highways were also forced to close.

The ‘Da Vinci’ complex advertises occupancy as early as 2015, but this incident is likely to push that date back. The bulk of the fire was reportedly under control after 90 minutes. The flames could be seen for kilometres around the city, which led dozens of people to post pictures and videos to social media.
