Preliminary estimates indicate that between six and 12 separate twisters formed, but this number has yet to be confirmed by survey teams.

 

April is the height of Texas’ tornado season, which runs from March to June. According to weather experts, Tuesday’s rash of tornadoes should put this year’s activity average the average.
