Nicolas (not his real name) lives in Toulouse, just a few dozen metres from number 17, rue de Sergent Vigné, where the suspected killer of three Jewish children, a rabbi and three paratroopers has been besieged by police since early this morning. Nicolas managed to capture the moment French special forces entered the building through the back door on camera as the siege continued.

I tried to leave to go to work at 5:30 a.m., but my neighourhood was cordonned off by police. I walked outside to see what was going on. My house being very close to where the suspect lives, I was able to approach the back of his building just as the police barged in. [More elite police entered the building through its front door]. I started filming right after I heard a loud bang, at 8 a.m. There were no journalists anywhere near me – they were all stuck behind barricades further down the street, and had to film the scene from far away.
