Syrian protesters ring in 2012 by wishing Assad a 'black year'

Anti-government protesters in Syria’s flashpoint city of Homs rang in the New Year by hitting the streets to demand an end to President Bashar al-Assad’s reign. Chanting and singing in chorus, the crowd wishes Assad “a black year”, while invoking “a white year” for their fellow protesters.
