BBC journalist snaps, rips anti-war protest sign

Nick Robinson, the BBC's star political correspondent, lost his temper when he realised that an anti-war protester was brandishing a “Bring our troops home” sign behind him as he reported live from the British parliament.

An amateur video shows the journalist grab the sign, tear it and stomp on it. A protester shouts: “You should be ashamed of yourself,” to which Robinson replies “For what? I’m not remotely ashamed of myself.”

Robinson later apologised on his blog, saying he “regretted” his reaction but adding that “there are many opportunities to debate whether the troops should be out of Afghanistan without the need to stick a sign on a long pole and wave it in front of a camera.”
