Youtuber Kaelynn08 was just about to make a video of herself playing the guitar when the magnitude-7.2 earthquake that rocked north-east Mexico on Easter Sunday rumbled right up to her bedroom, interrupting her artistic efforts.
The earthquake and its smaller aftershocks, which left two dead and 100 injured in the Mexican city of Mexicali, near the epicentre of the quake, were felt in most of Southern California and Arizona. The most severe damage caused by the earthquake was concentrated in Mexicali, where roads cracked open and at least one building collapsed. The entire city lost power for several hours.

A group of young Americans were driving on the desert highway between San Felipe and Mexicali when the quake struck. They witnessed the spectacular sight of great clouds of dust lifted by the quake slowly settling on a nearby mountain range.
