Amateur video reveals amateur techniques of poker robbers

Armed robbers made off with up to 800,000 euros on Saturday when they stormed a poker tournament at a luxury hotel in Berlin. The robbery was originally thought to have been carried out by professionals, but amateur footage of the incident reveals a somewhat slipshod affair.

At 00'17 a security guard is seen throwing a laptop, followed by other objects, at two of the robbers as they attempt to leave with the jackpot. At 00'25 one of the pair (in a red jumper) is caught by the guard and held on the floor. At 00'50, one of the robbers returns, threatening the guard with a stick and ensuring the release of his colleague. From 02'00 onwards the footage shows participants of the tournament sheepishly leaving the venue and the destruction left behind after the robbery.

The police on Monday said that the robbery was not professional.
