At 200 storeys high, the world's tallest building, the Burj Dubai skyscraper, opens today. If you're not quite sure just how high 200 storeys takes you, watch the following video...
Its precise height will be announced after the inauguration of the building today (Jan. 4). Estimated at over 800 metres, or 2,625 feet, the world's new tallest building, which towers over downtown Dubai, will easily surpass its predecessor; the meagre 508-metre Taipei 101.
Designed by American architect Adrian Smith, the 1.5 billion euro skyscraper will house 1,044 apartments and offices and a luxury "Armani" hotel, to open in March. For those who don't suffer vertigo, there's a visitors' observation post on the 124th floor. To get to the top is almost impossible. But thanks to the engineer who posted the following video on YouTube, you can experience it nonetheless.
