I was linked to the video of the Russian serviceman singing about the problems he saw with financial benefits, housing, etc and saw your comments regarding your own service.
Have you ever written or published anything about your experiences?
I'm particularly interested in learning about the Soviet experience in Afghanistan and so personal stories are always very informing. Sorry if I'm being to forward in asking, but it's rare to hear from veterans.

I have written the book about the war. It's published in Russia in circulation 17000. And on the Internet this book has about 100000 readers. In my book there is no pathos, but there is a nostalgia. If you wish to find there horrors of war = you will not find it. But there there is a lot of humour. I wrote about a youth, about a life in the war, instead of about death. If you read in Russian, I will give to you link on the book which is on the Internet.
I think that this book would be useful for publishing in the West. At us (in Russia) books of veterans of the Vietnamese war publish, - and whether there are in the West books of Russian veterans of Afghanistan?
