Please allow me to introduce myself. I am a young Chinese designer. My name is Wei Ran. I am lucky to have read your books and your design work —— LilyPad Artificial Eco-island, from which I firm once again value of my career. Thank you for giving my hope. I am a designer who just graduated from university. I am aware that I lack of practical experience and professional knowledge, but my brain is crammed with imaginative ideas, and I have my own thinking on future building as well as the future living space of human being. Up to date, a brilliant array of building miracles have been accomplished by mankind: underwater building and hotel in polar region, etc. As I hold belief, someday there will be even floating city in the air! And that will create more living space for us! Presently, it is impossible from technical vision to see land or building covering thousands of hectares leaping up and floating in the air utterly free of bracing! But who know? Maybe such technology may be developed by someone tomorrow! Whether the building by then will be just like what I have imagined, with the nature just lying close to me? I am deeply convinced that day will come sooner or later! I am very delighted as soon as I come to such idea. Despite a lot of existing problems, we have after all taken the first pace, and we have partly realized it! To observe man’s behavior, things around us, relationship between human and nature, things already appeared around us, as well as everything this Planet has brought to us. A building of integration of information and biology, the habitat of human life, is just the value and rationale of my life. My idea and thinking is inconceivable to the people around me, so I wish I could get your help and direction. With that I wish I could be closer to my dream, and learn from you! Please!
