I'm 25 and live in Portsmouth in England. I currently work for a big energy supply company in England in the Finance department and am also a part time football referee! I am a huge football fan and watch football in the UK and across many European leagues, supporting English Cup winners Portsmouth (my home team in England), Borussia Moenchengladbach in Germany (where i lived as a youngster), and also enjoy non-league football, watching many non league games, particularly a local club Havant & Waterlooville who famously led twice at Anfield against Liverpool in this years FA Cup. Football runs through my family and have always loved the game since being taken as a youngster to watch my local teams, Moenchengladbach and Portsmouth, by my Dad.

Oh,hey
Soumis par Patrícia (non vérifié) le dim, 08/06/2008 - 20:32.Hey Chris,
Hope this is where i write back!
You came to Portugal and soon I'll be going to the UK! Which game did you go to see in Guimarães?
I didn't go to any, just basically watched Portugal's games in this place where they had giant screens and with
a lot of people, it was really great. And then after, there were a lot of danish people, italian and dutch, so
everyone just got along very well, sang along, etc.
I do have a favourite team in Portugal, Guimarães yes. We're probably going to be in Champions League, we got
3rd place in the league but FC Porto lost his place because of some corruption matters, so yeah, I don't know if
Guimarães will go far but, everyone in this city is really supportive of our team and of Portugal in general!
And yes, I think we have great chances this year, but then again we've been having them since 2004 and never won
anything, total disappointment. I hope this year turns out to be better.
I was certainly surprised with what Moutinho did, but the whole team surprised me in general, Bosingwa was great,
Pepe and Simão as well.
But it's a shame England is not the Euro this year, it kind of made me sad that they didn't go through, remembering
Portugal's latest victories against England, man those were sweet! (Sorry)
But yeah those matches were really great,
with two great teams on the field, and you just get all that rush, wow.
Who are you cheering for this year then? Or who do you think is going to win?
Kinda hard to tell in some cases, just now Croatia beat Austria, but Austria did so well in the end. Poland and Germany
are probably going to do a good job as well.
Group C also with great teams, I can't tell what will come out of that, and really I just hope Greece to not go through, hard feelings
from Euro 2004.

The game we saw in Guimaraes
Soumis par Chris Bullock le dim, 08/06/2008 - 23:32.The game we saw in Guimaraes was Italy v Bulgaria. I also watched games in Porto, Lisbon and Braga while we were there. Had a fantastic two weeks. We stayed in Braga in a hotel there and the atmosphere was brilliant. We had a great time with some great people from Portugal, Italy, Denmark, Sweden and Holland. And of course when we wern't at a match we watched all of the Portugal matches on the big screen with all your fantastic people-including the Portugal v England match!!
Where in the UK are you going to? I am following Germany in this tournament mainly, as i have links with Germany-i used to live there and support a German team. But is very strange this tournament happening without England in it-although England always play boring football!!
I thought Germany looked good tonight apart from the end of the first half and beginning of the second half, where Poland played OK, but Austria were unlucky to lose in the end against Croatia.
I totally agree that Boswinga looked very good last night- it think he will do very well in England. Pepe also looked very good. I like Portugal and the football they play, and i was disappointed when they lost to Greece in the final in 2004, as Greece just played with a strong defence and always tried to win 1-0!
Hopefully this time the right team will win the tournament.

And yes, it is always great when the good teams are in and I don't think England plays boring football, they should definitely be in.
And yeah I saw Germany vs Poland and I thought Germany played really well and Podolski scored two goals! I sure hope Ronaldo starts scoring if he wants to be the best scorer (that'd be great).
Just finished watching France vs Romania, a bit disappointed that the French didn't win, not that I like them, Portugal always seems to lose with France (remember worldcup) but I am all for the good teams to continue on the tournament.
Tonight's match is going to be interesting, let the best win!

The Dutch
Soumis par Chris Bullock le mar, 10/06/2008 - 10:12.Well last nights match was certainly the best game so far- what a game and what a performance by the dutch. If they keep playing like that they can go a long way.
France-Romania-very disappointing. We had the best game and the worst game so far last night!!

Soumis par Patricia Silva le mar, 10/06/2008 - 11:27.Yeah it was really a great match, never seen the Netherlands play that well and Italy that bad.
Good is that if both Portugal and the Netherlands go through they won't meet until the finals.
Just hope Greece loses today :) and that our neighbour Spain wins!
