The guy is arguably the most (in)famous political analyst in Russia. It's believed that his analytic paper about a danger of a possible oligarch coup have convinced Putin to arrest Michail Khodorkovsky. In 2002 he founded a non-profit organization The Council for National Strategy. In 2003 the Council published a series of reports: "State and oligarchy" and "New Vertical of Power". Belkovsky is said to have authored the journalistic cliché "Puting" (Путинг) to denote the process of renationalisation of Russia's oil industry assets.
