A haven of relative calm in a part of Western Africa better known for its chaos and highly-publicised military coups, Ghana is hosting the African Nations Cup for the fourth time .
The tournament, which is expected to attract one million visitors and one billion television viewers worldwide, will dwarf even last year's events when Ghana, the first country in sub-Saharan Africa to gain independence, pulled out all the stops to celebrate half a century of emancipation from Britain.
