Chinese authorities have so far reported 13 dead since the beginning of the incidents while Tibetan activists say that at least one hundred people have been killed. These amateur photos, which we're the first to publish, contradict the official Chinese statement.
The photos were taken at the Kirti Monastery (in the county of Aba, Sichuan province, near Tibet) and retrieved by the Free Tibet Campaign. According to the organisation, they were taken after a demonstration of hundreds of people initiated by monks. The police are said to have used teargas, before shooting at the crowd and killing between 13 and 30 people according to eye witnesses quoted by the organisation. Please note that because there are no journalists in the area it's impossible to have this information verified.
The monks gather to mourn their dead by throwing offerings on to the bodies, which are wrapped up in cloths.
A detail of the same photo.
A body that had been wrapped in blankets.
A protester allegedly killed by a shot to the chest.
A protester killed by a bullet to the back of the neck.

Comminism in China
Soumis par Gautam (non vérifié) le jeu, 20/03/2008 - 13:31.Hi All,
I am from India, I have been following the news very closely as china is our neighbor (so called good neighbor) China is the growing power in the world, I really have quite a lot of respect about Chinese as a whole as they are very hard working and taking the country to great heights on the other hand I really hates the guts of Chinese government they are so ambitious that they have the intension of conquering other country. I do not think the communist gov in china mind in killing weather its Chinese or Tibetans or any other people to achieve their goal . They have already done it in past they have killed thousands of students protesters in the city, and they did it with lots of plan first making the media blackout and then performing the killing. Chinese comm gov. believes that by force they can come over any situation. Any super power thinks they are so powerful that they can do and undo anything. they think them self above god. Same happened with Hitler, Saddam and in Russia too.
China have attack India before , they have killed students, they have problem with Taiwan and with Tibet. I do agree that the protest was not peaceful and the police have to open fire. But we have understand why the protest took place in the first place because of Chinese occupancy of Tibet. I feel the common people of china should come forward and protest. Remember my friends the clock always rotate today Chinese gov thinks they are the supreme power in the world they can do anything but time will change as history tells us that the through the time the obssesor have perished but the obsessed have survived through thick and thin .
Please do not think I hate Chinese, but I hate any gov that believe in suppressing the human rights anybody and everybody have the right to live in a free country.
thanks and regadrs
May GOD be in controll of the situation let us all pray for the departed soul no matter which side they are.

Truth in Tibet
Soumis par Zinan (non vérifié) le jeu, 20/03/2008 - 00:07.I am a very ordinary Chinese who lives Europe. By reviewing and studying the news both from the West and China in reporting the mob turmoil in Tibet, I got impression that no actual information flow or communication between the two sides. It seems to me that there is no true interests in getting what really happened there by most of the media in the West since the conclusion has been made long time before this turmoil even took place and a choice has been made that Chinese has invaded into Tibet no matter what history was.
According to the picture and video material I have got, it is so clear that there are quite few 'terrists' burning, robbing shops and attacking passengers at the spot. Most of media in the West, when reporting this event, seems totally blind toward those sides of story. It seems to me that it is more important to choose a side rather than discover a reality there. In most report, there is only peaceful monks and Tibetans VS bad government, or at the worst case, angry Tibetan mass VS bad government, but no criminals and no innocent victim. What a picture!
I really felt sorry for media it has been used in such a way. There, in the media on certain issues, professional value has given its way to personal value judgment and emotional expression never minded the truth.
Do not forget, just while ago, media in general greatly helped and supported Nato in launching Air strike in Serbia, Media in United States have supported the War in Iraq!
Does truth matters? It does not seem so since most of the media have drawn its conclusion long time before.
Where Media will lead ordinary mass and what is the social responsibility of mass media as a social institute?

Tibet Vs China
Soumis par Lhundup (non vérifié) le jeu, 24/04/2008 - 11:03.First of all I am Tibetan and I know what it is to be living under the Chinese rule. There is no freedom of expression and religion. All actions of the Chinese government are directed to eradicate the national identity of Tibet. They attract the Dalai Lama with baseless allegation because He is the symbol of Tibet and all Tibetans respect him.
The above Chinese wrote about Tibetans looting shops, but in reality looting is out of question, every Tibetan know that the Chinese government if they protest against the Chinese rule, they would get arrested or get killed. Foreign eyewitnesses have seen Tibetans burning Chinese owned shops and taking the things out in the street burning them. There was no looting.
Tibetans hate the presence so many Chinese in Tibet. Tibetans fear more the migration of Chinese into Tibetan than the Chinese military.
I know by nature many Chinese are so used to propagandas that they can't stand different views. China say majority of Tibetans are so happy under the Chinese rule and they say those opposing the Chinese rule few. If that is the case, can China allow a referandum on Tibetans whether they are happy or not?
If the majority choose to live under China then the minority must accept the Chinese rule.

In the first two pixs I dont
Soumis par xxnn007 (non vérifié) le mer, 19/03/2008 - 22:27.In the first two pixs I dont see any monks there, those just normal ppl, they may religions but not MONKs, also i dunt think they surround there are mourning the deadman, but curious and sad about what was happened~
then in the third picx, we can see the dead guy is kinda of strong, and he is facing up with no /or not much blood on his white clothes, he waering jeans,so there is no clear evidence shows this dead man is protester or innocent people.
in the fourth pix, we can see the thin body also lost of blood print on his chest, but why in the third picx, the body is much stronger than this?? also why the clothes still whhite??blood proof clothes?? after above analysis, if he died by facing down, then his colthes must be full of bloodprint unless he was facing up after been shot, so the blood will leak from his back. One more thing to noitce is the sence is different in there and previous two pixs, nobody allow to damage the crime sence and touch the body before police come, (i think this is same in very country,) hence the body in third pix and fouth pix may different body.
the last pic, again the scene is different,How?? the body is wear a black vest with lots dust on it, this means the vast is original waer by the body, nobody has replace it. but why in the third pix, the body is wear a white colthes??did anybody change the clothes for him and took the last photo?? hmm... interesting....Also there is no bloodprint on the back of black vast(blood proof again??), so he die with facing up, which against the result from above analysis. so there are THREE different body.

Clarifications
Soumis par Team Observers le jeu, 20/03/2008 - 10:32.Because this comment expressed some confusion about the number of bodies in the pictures, we have added a caption to each picture to make clear that it is not the same person in each photo.
As we made clear in the piece, the information we received was from the Free Tibet Campaign and was not able to be verified by a journalist in the area. But we felt it was important to publish the images because they were the first that showed that the Chinese were using real bullets in the conflict.

Biased report
Soumis par Anonyme (non vérifié) le mer, 19/03/2008 - 14:56.It is the Tibetans who first conducted violence. The protesters were targeting shops and vehicles owned by the Han Chinese and set fire. Innocent civilians have been beaten and killed by these people. Read this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2008_unrest_in_Tibet
The protesters in Lhasa attacked police before rioting, and the ease they bypassed the police with shows they were well organized.
Even if the enemy shoots, the Chinese police cannot shoot back without permission. In any cities if there are riots of such scale, there will be gunshots.

This is a typical reaction
Soumis par Anonyme (non vérifié) le mer, 19/03/2008 - 07:18.This is a typical reaction and response by an oppressive political regime, bent on ruthlessly suppressing any expression of dissent, using meaningless and obsolete political language, and preoccupied solely with the preservation and expansion of the power of a self-appointed political mafia without any political legitimacy.
All posturing and "official statements" by the Chinese "government" (regime!) are just a smoke screen, and do not change this truth.
Remember this every time you buy a product "Made in China"...!
Tibet is an occupied nation, brutally suppressed by the Chinese, and the Tibetans are denied any self-determination in their own country (in this regard they are treated worse than the Palestinians in their territories).
A nation like China does not deserve to host the Olympic Games, as this regime does not even begin to understand concepts like "free" and "fair".
BOTH Tibet AND China deserve to be liberated from this criminal political mafia and their depraved leaders.

Soumis par Jerry (non vérifié) le dim, 20/04/2008 - 07:09.all the people believes China gov is such liar, how do u know western media is not? have anyone of u came to China to discover the truth in China? If all of ya guys just add comments by such pics and news report in yr country. Ok! just go ahead. we Chinese wont take this as serious. Because none of you understand the culture and history of Great China just like we dont understand why does all Western media have bias report on this issue. As u can see all the media are quote those pics which offered by free tibet, why there'r no report quote pics offered by Mainland media? so, it's bias; all the reports are showing Chinese police are murders, does any report quotes those riots are killers either? so, it's bias. Dont let media blinds yr eyes. When u are laughing Chinese, how do u know u are not "Chinese". god bless u!
