"Clinton has lost. It's over"

To our Observer Joe Sudbay, Clinton has lost. This weekend, the candidate's already flailing popularity took another hit when her account of a life-endangering trip to Bosnia was refuted. Footage from the trip shows school children greeting her plane and a sing-along with Sheryl Crow.

At the same time, Barack Obama fought his way out of a popularity slump following his ties to controversial black pastor Jeremiah Wright. The turnaround in the democratic candidates' rollercoaster race sees Clinton's reputation plummet further, and along with her trailing delegate count of 1499 to Obama's 1620, calls for her to drop out of the race are not surprising.

"I remember landing under sniper fire"

While in a speech on March 17 Clinton described herself as dodging sniper bullets on a trip to Bosnia in 1996, a news report from CBS shows the first lady meeting and greeting children. Since it was put online Monday, the video's received hundreds of thousands of hits.

"It's time to take a deep breath and be honest. It's over. Clinton can't win. Let's move on"

Our Observer in Washington, blogger Joe Sudbay:

Hillary Clinton has lost. She cannot win the Democratic nomination without causing a civil war in the Democratic party. Her recent actions, especially comparing herself to, and praising, McCain while undermining Obama, make it appear that she is willing to do just that -- split the party in two. Seriously, can you imagine McCain saying that that he had a lifetime of experience, Hillary had a lifetime of experience, but Romney didn't? That would never happen. It's unacceptable. And it has to stop. I get that it sucks to lose. But, it happens. Hillary needs to get over it, and let's get on with the real campaign.

The first step needs to be an end to the daily campaign conference calls. They sure feed the media frenzy, but they ultimately do nothing to aid our effort to defeat John McCain. Seriously, look at the Politico or the Page or Swampland at Time.com and any of the other political reporters and you'll see how much they love those conference calls. Always some good vicious soundbites, but is that what we need right now? Hardly. Every time the Clinton campaign piles on, they are now actually aiding and abetting McCain.

Any of the party leaders who are waiting to endorse until a later date should listen in on one of these conference calls. Then, they need to ask themselves if they want two more months of this while John McCain just coasts along, saving his money and his reputation, when Hillary Clinton cannot win the nomination anyway. The Superdelegates and the DNC [Democratic National Committee] need to decide if they want two more months of the vitriol, and a divided, bitterly divided party, or do they want a Democratic White House come next January? It's time for some leadership -- or something more akin to an intervention. Otherwise, we're on a path to Mutually Assured Destruction. And so far, our party elders don't seem to care."

I was through with Hillary

I was through with Hillary Clinton when I saw her crying on tv about what a tough fight she was in against Obama. And finally, her "I misspoke" line was the finisher. Her memory couldn't possibly be that inaccurate.

This race is not even close. It is the most under reported story

The main stream media continues to portray the Democratic race as being close. The interesting thing is the MSM has characterized Obama's pledged delegate lead as both "small" and "insurmountable". How can his lead be BOTH narrow and also impossible to overcome? It sounds like a contradiction in terms. They have also said that now that MI and FL will not hold revotes Senator Clinton "Does not have a path to victory". No path to victory equals a LOSS. Also, it is becoming less and less nobel from party leaders to sit by and do nothing. If Democrats value their party they will follow Gov. Richardson's lead and start moving towards Obama. If the Democrats lose this election it will spell the end of the party. If Democrats can't win the general under these conditions it simply means they cant win.

Actions Speak Better than Words

We should judge a person by their actions and not their words.

The fact that Obama choose Mr. Wright as his spiritual teacher for 20 years and included Mr. Wright in his election staff speaks well for Mr. Obama’s thinking and actions. Words are easy to manipulate and it is UNLIKELY that Obama's recent race speech was written by Mr. Obama himself, but of course written by his spin machine.

And regardless that he is ‘fashionably black’ and that many of you have some desire to prove to yourself or to others that you are not prejudice and that you like ‘black people’ with an attitude of ‘See, I like black people, I’m voting for a black person,’ such an attitude of voting for a person because of their race is the definition of prejudice.

But it seems to me if Mr. Obama had a lighter skin tone, there is no way he would be tolerated in as much he is aligned with a violent religious group, and never says anything substantial. And not only that, consider yesterday’s announcement that the chief of the firm involved in the State Department’s passport breach is Obama’s adviser. And that Obama has been caught lying about Rezko, regarding the amount of money Rezko gave him, and that Obama still hasn’t come clean about his Rezko land deal.

If Obama were to become president, what would stop Mr. Obama from appointing Mr. Wright to his cabinet? And to be sure, if anyone complained about Mr. Wright’s appointment, they would be called racist.

We should have as our country’s leader someone with wisdom and knowledge regardless of race, not someone hungry for power for the sake of power.

Out of all the 300 million people in America, is this really who you want for president – blindly popular with young people, power hungry, deceptive, vague, and coldly self-centered - is there a better definition of a potential Anti-Christ?

Illuminati

Does anyone really think it matters who becomes President of Bushland? Can anyone really tell the difference between the Democratic P and the Republican P? Go ahead, I challenge you to name the differences WHERE THEY MATTER (on the economy and attitudes to war). Who opposed the imperialist venture in Iraq? Who is it that props up failing banks, welfare for the rich? Does any one of these presidential candidates have an opinion on these matters?
Obama's preacher friend was RIGHT!! The whole world believes the US of A interferes in other people's affairs in the interests of global capitalist corporations, like Monsanto or Halliburton and many others. The preacher tells the truth and poor old Obama has to distance himself from these uncomfortable truths.
No, it doesn't matter who wins (unless you think politics is only about non-monetary things like abortion rights or prayer in schools). Whoever wins will have to dance to the tune played by the Globals.
We no longer have the Cold War and all those nasty commies who MAKE us (honestly, we couldn't help it) spend money on Star Wars , so let us invent a permanent war...the War against Terrorism. Does no one realise that terror has been with us for many many centuries in one form or another...like prostitution, it is always with us...and so we can go on planning spending the taxes of Americans for virtually EVER.
The great British writer, George Orwell, writing his 1984 in 1948, shows a world in which war is permanent. The Bush administration has achieved that fictional reality in just five years.
And which of McCain, Clinton or Obama is going to dismantle this terrorist system? Does no one see how the government of the US of A commits acts of terror against not only the rest of the world, but against its own people?
Go ahead and vote if it makes you feel better.

Say What You Mean

If Barack Obama "had a lighter skin tone" being born of a white mother and black father,he would still be a black person in America. We are still selecting race under Jim Crow
rules, as opposed to using DNA or rules of genetics. A biracial person under Jim Crow rule is only reconized as black! So you see you are as deseptive as your candidate of choice,Hillary Clinton.

I am considered Hispanic by the US government becusae my father was cuban, yet my mother white. I have blonde hair and blue eyes. My Girlfriend is considered white b/c her father was white, yet her mother peruvian. My GF had latin looking features and did not speak english til she was 13. So its more so your last name, aka father's side that picks it. Plus u can bubble in your own race if u are mixed.

My last name of "White" was brand to me by my ansestors slave masters, who beat the thought of using their own name, dead."TOBY,my name is TOBY".Check out "Roots" the making of a slave.I don't know how long you've been in America, but I dare you to find any person born of one black parent and any other race be refered to anything other than a black person. That is the racial marking due to and designed by the laws of JIM CROW's:,segregation of the south, and derievevd from WILLIE LYNCH's:,fear, envy and distrust to control a people for thousands of years. And the pretense to all this freedom and equality,People are still being slavery assigned race.

Your words ARE your actions on this blog!

I agree that we should judge a person by their actions and not their words. But on a blog, we judge by words and your words discredit you. You obviously don't know anything about the anti-Christ.

You obviously don't speak for 300 million people, most of whom have voted for Obama over Clinton and McCain.

You obviously have no respect for the intellect of young voters, middle-class income and higher voters, well-educated voters, independents and crossover Republican voters, all of whom have voted more for Obama than Clinton.

You obviously are basing your vote on something concealed like prejudice, bias, bigotry or plain ignorance because the unconcealed record doesn't substantiate your contrived, clintonian allegations about Obama and his associations.

Finally, if you are so concerned about America and the world, as opposed to your own race and gender, what has the record exposed about your candidate?
