I read the piece on the garbage problem in Naples. I was in Naples this summer. And I found the city quite dirty. I don't understand why the authorities don't take action. I think you're right to protest and riot. Are the negociations moving forward? Do you see an end to this crisis? Good luck. And keep us updated.

Naples is a very beautiful city, abundant of history. The are love and passion people: but this citizens are also neglect and insensible to this problem in some region (Naples is a city full of negation). The blame of this situation is of the politics, that are corrupt with "camorra": in years the waste become a big (billion) business.
Now there is a new commissar (ex head of police): i think that have a difficult way but if he be able to build a programs and fight the "camorra" in the contract (i.e. don't farm out inceneretor to camorra's company).
The temporary solution is to put the refuse on the bordering region,to send the waste in Germany, Sardinia, and create new garbage dump. This isn't enough. Thanks for your words.
