A public charity foundation, Mother's Right has been active for more than 20 years. We have won thousands of court cases concerning the deaths of soldiers in the Russian army, and we have had more victories than losses, as opposed to many other Russian human rights organisations.
In the first half of 2008, our legal advisers took part in 103 court hearings in 41 Russian towns. Our success rate during those six months was 66%. It's much better than the success rates of many other Russian lawyers (our legal advisers are not lawyers, it's our principal stance). Nevertheless, we are not gods. We are normal people and we understand that we can't raise the dead, and we can't win all the trials. When we don't win quickly, we are ready for a long fight in order to make the law prevail. Now, for instance, we are expecting such a fight in the case concerning death of Ivan Krasheninnikov.
