Strongly Agree that in a democratic world we therefore do not need thugs and gangsters who wage war using lies to further their personal gain and to further the aims of their masters who want genocide against up to 75 percent of the worlds population !! !!
We therefore need a change of regime in washington therefore bush and the criminal gangster clique MUST be prosecuted with the full weight of law!!

Submitted by Stuart Haugen on Thu, 01/01/2009 - 13:46.Look, I am, in no way, defending all of the actions of the Bush administration nor am I defending all of America's actions over the years with respect to the Middle East. Nor am I attacking or condemning them, just so we are clear.
My point is simple... those in the Middle East (whether Iraq or the Palestinians or so many other suffering peoples) need to quit looking backwards. They need to quit being manipulated by greedy, corrupt, and power grabbing rulers who leverage a noble religion for personal gains and they need to force their leadership to step up and address the very real options for peaceful outcomes in the region.
Yes, there is rampant politicization of the situation on all sides of the issues but there is a real opportunity if all the affected peoples, including the Israelis, can get around being manipulated and force their leaders to reject gratuitous violence and to "get it done".
This will not happen if you get hung up on the symbolism of "throwing shoes" or the foolishness of advocating the prosecution of a soon to be ex US president.
Get on with life...

Vous écrivez que Segolene Royal n'a pas été attaquée parce que femme mais parce qu'elle était nulle. Qu'en termes galants ces choses-là sont dites!
Aujourd'hui vous vous trouvez forcé d'encenser un "être humain" (pas de genre) qui non seulement se révèle totalement nul en tant que parent (*) mais d'une rare hypocrisie: après avoir tenté de dépenser des milliards de fonds publics pour un grandiose projet inutile il prétend ne l'avoir jamais fait.
Dieu nous préserve que le sort de l'Etat le plus puissant du monde soit une fois encore confié à une personne ignare,va-t-en guerre et gaspilleuse des fonds publics au profit des plus riches.
L'Amérique et le monde méritent mieux que ça.

I must commend your honesty in admitting that Senator Obama's position on the proposed gasoline relief plan for the summer was, in fact, the Free Market/Free Enterprise approach -- and that Senator McCain deviated from his oft-proferred principles on that issue. Believe it or not, there are a number of us on this side of the pond who are also fluent in French -- and paying attention! Pas 'tout le monde', comme vous avez dit, mais assez.
