Iranian students demonstrate against Ahmadinejad

Around a hundred students gathered outside the University of Tehran on 9 October, shouting “enough of the dictator” and “we don’t want a new Pinochet”, while President Ahmadinejad gave a conference inside. The riot-police soon surrounded the group. The young activists are circulating photos and videos of the demonstration online.

These photos were taken by students participating in the demonstration, and then uploaded onto AutNews, the website of the Islamic Student Association of Amirkabir University. The website has been criticised by the Iranian government for defaming the president. Despite the arrest of four of its editors in May, the site continues to run.

Ahmadinejad danger

The only difference that countries like US or France have weapons that can destroy Iran in one day even he will have nukes. But if he will shoot first one, will be millions of killed people in Europe and Mideast. Anyway we must take his words seriously and inspect him regularly.

It is good to see students demonstrating against the hardline views of their president, but what are their views exactly?

It was wonderful to obtain video coverage of demonstrations in Iran, but would have been far better productive if atleast subtitles in English or French were offered with that video.
Those students could be chanting exactly as you mention,but without subtitles the presentation could have the students claiming , Death to the Great Satan, or Yes, there are homosexuals in Iran,or we want change in Iran and want a new structure of government for the people.
Next time, see what you can do about adding subtitles.

The Innocent men in Quantanamo

It only proves that many of these prisoners have learned to play a new game of victims because our media outlets are very willing to destroy the creditability of the countries fighting against terrorism. The so-called victims return and often attacked us after their release.

Submitted by firebird (not verified) on Sat, 08/03/2008 - 19:01.I have never heard so much piffle in all my life the detainees released from Guantanamo were not British and do not have the right to reside in the UK we are stuck with them because we were their last country of residence.It is about time we brought in strict laws and anyone thought to be a terrorist should be arrested and sentenced to life if convicted they should be taken from the court and executed.People like Rogers should be tried for treason and their is only one penalty for that there is no difference between him and Lord Haw Haw remember him and what happened.
