In the ruins of Jabalia

Members from the pro-Palestine NGO ISM are still in the Gaza Strip. One of them tells us about photos she took in the heavily-bombed northern town of Jabalia at the start of the week. On her blog she explains "the devastation stretches as far as the eye can see".

"The only thing they knew was that they had to get home"

Sharon Lock is a volunteer with the International Solidarity Movement. She blogs from the Gaza Strip, where she's been since arriving on the "Free Gaza" boat since August.

I took these photos on Tuesday in Jabalia, north Gaza Strip. The area had been targeted from the beginning. As soon as the residents heard the news about the ceasefire, they came back, at daybreak, to see what was left of their homes. They were all completely demolished, there was hardly anything left. I went there to see the families and listen to them. They didn't know what to do. I saw their children in the middle of the rubble, and their parents making tea, in the ruins. Some were using firewood to make fires, to cook. But they didn't even know where to start. The only thing they knew was that they had to get home. I'm going to go back this afternoon, to see how they're getting on. They told us it's good to have someone to talk to. Despite everything, it's motivating to be of some use."

*Converted to Catholic (to flee the rising anti-Semitism during the WWII)
#Converted to Protestant (to flee the rising anti-Semitism during the WWII)

YOU'RE WRONG

" I can not imagine if jews' population became 1.3 billion in this world what would they do!"

during the world war 2, 6 million jews have been killed.... did they hurt anybody?? they were INNOCENT, such as the thousands of israelis whom have been killed or wounded by the hamas' rockets, by the suicide attacks and others. Did you protest against it?? did you support israel??did you say anything while seeing a palestinian chil brainwashed and bearing an AK-47 in his hands?? did you protest when hamas killed his muslims brothers from fatah????

I think you didn't do anything, but when israel tries to protect itself, everybody blames it.
Above all, on the 1300 killed palestinians, the're werent only civilians, and above all, when hamas uses people as human shields, I din't see anybody protesting in the great capitals of the world....... DID YOU???

Bravo France

I can't believe, France is sending its militery might, to prevent the Palestinian People from rearming. This is not the France I ever knew.
France, that use to describe it self as "THE CRADLE OF THE LIBERTE"
No thing is further from the truth!
How the French People would feel if the Jewish State take a huge chunk of lend from France and claim, it is their Gods promised land with honey and milk, because they are the Gods Chosen Nation?
