WEB - 27/10/08 : Hitler - fodder for comedy?

Using a pivotal and sombre scene from The Downfall, YouTubers took it upon themselves to add subtitles completely unrelated (football, the Wii console etc) to the content of Hitler's words. Many were inspired, but the trend caused us to ask ourselves: is no subject off limits?

Chinese webusers revelled in the September milk scandal, paying particular attention to major dairy producer Sanlu, which they even devoted this spoof commercial to.

USA - 16/09/08: Are elevators a place for racism?

For those who think racial prejudice is a thing of the past, this video tells a different story. Barely noticeable gestures, like the typical reaction to a young black male stepping into a lift, convey a discreet type of racism that lingers on into the 21^st century, or so according to this video, which is also very funny.

SAUDI ARABIA - 14/08/08: Got an electric car? "May eagles gouge your eyes out!"

This advert for a Nissan-Renault car, aired in Israel, incensed the Saudi population. The ad was promoting Tiida, a low mileage Nissan-Renault car with Israel as its target audience - a country that is trying to reduce its energy dependence. Saudi Arabia certainly didn't see the funny side.

A group of Indian campaigners sung and danced their way to a glorification of condom use. A crucial fight in their central region, where two percent of the population is HIV positive. And the result - a Bollywood style video clip - was hilarious.
