Dreyfuss jaw-jaws at the convention

The roster of celebs, both political and cultural, checking in at the Democratic convention just keeps getting thicker by the day. A day after her encounter with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, FRANCE Observer Anne Bottaro, one of the youngest volunteers at the convention, brushes up with Oscar-winning actor, Richard Dreyfuss, star of Hollywood epics such as "Jaws" and "Close Encounters of the Third Kind".

"'That's Richard Dreyfuss,' whispered my Dad"

Anne Bottaro is a student and Democrat supporter attending the Denver convention.

There seems to be no end to the famous folks trickling in here. The other night, a guy wandered in looking quite lost. There were three other men with him. We were sitting with the Iowa delegation on the convention floor and these guys were looking for seats. The place was so jam-packed, there were none available. We told them to try Vermont. There are always empty seats in Vermont. ‘That's Richard Dreyfuss,' whispered my Dad. I may be 17, but of course I know who is Richard Dreyfuss. I've seen ‘Jaws' a couple of times. I love that film.

So, Dreyfuss and his pals walked ahead of us to the Vermont area, where he sat, just a few rows ahead of me. That's when I took this photograph. Later, he came back and sat with Iowa. I heard him talking about the political situation in the country. He seemed really intelligent and well educated - and he sounded like a committed Democrat."
