What a match! I was really close to cry first, I say to my self: “this is over”. But when Arda score the first Turkish goal, I was confident again. And then we controlled the game and we started back to play like the Turkish team do. After 10 minutes we score a second goal and I run to my balcony and start to shout out “TÜRKIYE, TÜRKIYE!”
I was close to cry again but this time, it was tears of joy. It was an exciting and entertaining match, which I expected.
The man of the match was Nihat who scored two important goals. Our next match is going to be hard, and we will need following players: Tuncay, Mehmet Aurelio, Hakan Balta and Volkan Demiral. And maybe: Servet Cetin and Emre Belozoglu.
But I think we have the quality required to win against Croatia.
We played quite well in the first half of the game, and didn't let the Turks play their game. Unfortunately, it didn't continue in the second half.We gave the Turks more space and unnecessarily went to defense. Nevertheless, we scored a second goal. It seems that after that the team decided that the victory was guaranteed and became careless. But the Turks didn't give up and made the score 2:1, then Peter Cech made a huge misjudgment, and the Turks tied the game.
At the end of the game the players once again decided that the game was over, so we left a Turk player alone, and he scored the winning goal. The result was influenced by the fact that Jan Koller had got tired.
I think that the coach had to substitute him. The Turks had problems in defence, and if we had somebody fresher and faster in our attack in the second half, the result of the game could have been different.
The entire country is upset. I think it was a very unnecessary loss. We should have been more active in the second half and shouldn't have given the Turks the possibility to play as they wished to.
