Such Bullshit. So China can steal Billions from the West through illegal trade practices, but you refuse to step up to the plate. This is ridiculous. Its everyone's responsibility to try to achieve peace.
China is like a giant child. It is not used to criticism because it stifles it in its own country and when th test of the world criticizes it it makes excuses and says "Thats unfair" in the words of some minister of China. "Unfair". Please the US and Europe get judged for every step they take BECAUSE of the freedom of speech they allow. The media brings problems to light and helps them fix it. China is paranoid of criticism and does nto know how to handle it. "Other people's responsibility's" Ridiculous. You a giant thieving nation, act like one, take some responsibility. BOYCOTT CHINA OLYMPICS!! HYPOCRITE COMMIES WITH CAPITALISM AND GENOCIDAL TENANCIES.

You are pathetic. You talk as if West has NEVER committed any crimes against humanity. Opium War, colonization of the East... do any of these historical events ring the bell?

The west is not bombing the Iraqis, Muslims are killing Muslims. When was the last carpet bombing of baghdad? never. Not like US solider go house to house killing every male. Nice fiction u wrote there.

Obviously No one is ever innocent when it comes to stuff like this. But here is a point. The west recognizes its wrongs. Its freedom of press and assembly allows the issues to be broughy to light and for change otbe brought. Autralia apologized to the natives, a huge step. In the US, students are taught that the killing of the indians was wrong. racism was wrong. And if i remember correcctly, its was the West's criticism of itself that brought about an end to slavery. Western nations created the standards for most of hte modern world.
China has few of the modern domestic principles such a freedom of expression, assembly, press, etc. Its a closed system and so any criticism of it is seen as a danger, not a chance to make it better. In the west, which is heavily criticized as the first nut said, by it self and others is done so becuase they allows it. how do u know somethign is wrong if you dont first recognize it? I dont have much respect for the US on the human rights front, though it only 'tortures' what, < 100 people so far. Not alot, but still wrong. You dont hear about Abuses in China or criticism of China much b/ of the biggest abuse of all, taht is the Chinese government denying its people the right ot criticism it and speak thier minds.
For china to say "It's unfair to link Darfur to the olympics" shows one thing, china has the standing to be judged by the world community, but no the mentality for it yet. It needs to get used to being criticized as it ascends to a larger world role. Just as US, or UK, or France is watched and insulted at every turn and not praised for any of the aid or charities that come out of it (let alone medicines), so too will China be judged.
I also have to agree that is every nations job to keep the peace. Since hte west has little influence in Sudan it falls to China to help. The West has tried o Atone for its wrongs, by first recognizing them, then facing them. We see that in Australia and GB, and US, but not in China. China's invasion of Tibet and its policies show that is it not in any mood to help Darfur.
Oh and as the 2nd nut said, why has the west not done much? The west gies more to charities then the rest of the world combined. The US alone gives the most in AIDS charity and treatments. Even as people in thier own countries suffer. No system is perfect, but the Goverment like the West's that recognize that they are not perfect, and continually try to better themselves and thier policies through th voice and criticism of the people have the most legitimacy. The America public expresses thier out rage over Guantanamo and Iraq, they know its wrong and in the next elecetion will make change for it. What do Chinese citizens do to change thier gov's policies? everything they can, which is not much becuase hier government does not allows them much.
