From what have seen, there is an uprising of Tibetan people within the borders of Tibet. Most of the dead are ethnic Tibetans, and the only damage cause by the uprising has been against ethnic Han Chinese who have been relocated there by the PRC government against the will of the Tibetan people. As an American born Irishman, I can completely understand this, as it parallels the Irish experience so well. Well, aside from the fact that the Irish cause has never had someone like the Dali Lama calling upon his people to peacefully strive for something less than independence. No, our people would see anyone allied with the oppressor as fair game.
Innocent?
