At least six people were killed on Wednesday morning after a landslide engulfed a slum north of Kenya’s capital Nairobi. Following a night of torrential rain, two massive boulders reportedly rolled over a number of houses, crushing them. According to the Red Cross, the disaster destroyed a total of 40 homes and put an additional nine people in the hospital.
The military was called in for reinforcement after the landslide, and Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga has since visited the scene.
