Marijuana fans celebrate decriminalisation in Washington state

On the stroke of midnight Thursday, marijuana smokers toked up under Seattle’s iconic Space Needle to celebrate the drug’s decriminalisation in the state of Washington. As of Thursday, anyone over the age of 21 can legally carry up to one ounce of marijuana, but is not allowed to smoke it in public. This didn’t deter Seattle’s celebrants, but luckily for them, no police showed up to kill their buzz.

During the latest elections, voters also voted to decriminalise marijuana in the state of Colorado. A similar measure was defeated in Oregon

Education is key

Even though i do not fully approve of the move I do appreciate that people now have the legal right to choose whether or not to smoke Marijuana. It could also be said that now that its legal, moderation and education is key to avoid addiction.
