Nigerian teenager makes awesome moveable toys

Odo Gérald's miniature mechanical digger works thanks to hydraulic pressure that he applies with water syringes. Photos courtesy of Maker Faire Africa.

At “Maker Faire Africa”, a craft fair recently held in Lagos, blogger White African met a very creative young man. At just 15 years of age, Odo Gerald builds miniature construction engines powered with water syringes that apply hydraulic pressure or with motorbike batteries.

This teenage inventor has worked on these toys for the past four months. He has already built a mechanical digger and a garbage truck with pieces of plywood. His next project: a small helicopter that can fly in the air for several seconds.

So the Africans are primitive! Interesting concept. Their 'native' capacity to visualise beats much of what I have seen in Europe where people have forgotten to think creatively. - A white-African impression.

Ohhhhh Yeaaaaaaa, the irony.

Ohhhhh Yeaaaaaaa, the irony. Your stereotyping is so much better. What a tit.
