Gabonese army’s dance video is a Web hit

When the soldiers of the Gabonese army’s engineering unit want to do a bit of self-promotion, they like to do it in style. This video clip shows them dressed in uniform and performing a dance routine. They even go so far as doing the conga to the song “Serving the Nation” (which was obviously written for the occasion) to promote the Army Corps.

This video was not made recently; it looks as if it was filmed before the death of Omar Bongo, whose son Ali Bongo succeeded him as president in 2009. The video was reportedly made without the permission of the political and military authorities, but after re-emerging a few months ago, it has become a big Internet hit. We can see why.
