Watch the World Bank’s next president have the time of his life

Jim Yong Kim, who was chosen Monday to be the World Bank’s next president, has a fittingly impressive resume: the 52-year-old physician was a pioneer in treating HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis in the developing world, and most recently held the post of president at Dartmouth College. But that’s not all. He also has a hidden talent: the man can rap.

Kim comes on stage halfway through the video, at 2’05.

As soon as news of his appointment was made public, a video showing his lighter side quickly came to light. In 2011, Kim made a surprise appearance during “Dartmouth Idol,” the college’s version of American Idol, to the sound of the Black Eyed Peas’ remix of “Time of My Life.”

The future head of one of the world’s most important institutions wore a white leather coat, fingerless gloves and glow-in-the dark bracelets as he busted some serious moves. And yes, that’s him singing, with a little help from Auto-Tune.
