In Syria, fighting against the state’s army is no longer just a man’s job. At least that’s the message of the video below. According to the women featured in it, an all-female brigade was recently formed in the city of Deraa, where the Syrian uprising first started.
The brigade goes by the name Khawla Bent Azour, in honour of a 7th century poetess and warrior. In the video, the brigade’s spokeswoman says the armed women will patrol the south of the country to defend citizens against the state’s army and to make up for “the Arab League’s inability to defend us and the world’s cowardice in the face of Syria’s fascist regime” (at 19 seconds). The young woman goes on to say that the brigade supports anti-regime protesters and promises to avenge all “martyrs”.
Whether this type of initiative spreads remains to be seen. But in any case it’s excellent publicity for the rebel fighters of the Free Syrian Army.

This is a false video.... checked by Syrian activists
Submitted by Admin (not verified) on Sat, 28/01/2012 - 16:54.This battalion does not exist, and the video is a 'fake'. Activists and Local Coordination committees checked, including with Free Syrian Army, and denonunced it as a fraud, one of many perpetrated by pro-regime individuals and state TV channels, which aim at denigrating the opposition.
The comment above is false

So he/she claims it is the Syrian regime that created this video... first, what does the regime gain from creating such propaganda for the free Syrian Army? Second, the regime doesn't have the time to catch its breath these days to sit and make up such videos...
